The SH Race World Runner by DUKE is a custom-built gravel wheelset based on the DUKE World Runner aluminium rim. Designed for gravel riding, it is intended for cyclists who want one wheelset capable of handling varied routes, from paved sections to rough roads, tracks and unpaved terrain.
The aluminium construction makes the World Runner an alternative to carbon gravel wheels for riders looking for a versatile SH Race handbuilt configuration.
At the heart of this wheelset is the DUKE World Runner aluminium rim. Its gravel-specific positioning makes it suitable for mixed-terrain riding, where the wheels need to cope with changing surfaces and riding conditions.
The rims are tubeless compatible, allowing the wheelset to be configured for a tubeless gravel setup.
The World Runner is designed for disc brake gravel bikes. The available axle configurations include 12 × 100 mm and 15 × 100 mm at the front, combined with 12 × 142 mm at the rear.
This makes the wheelset configurable for different gravel bike setups, subject to selecting the axle standards that correspond to your frame and fork.
One of the key advantages of an SH Race handbuilt wheelset is the ability to select components according to your requirements rather than relying on a single factory specification.
The World Runner configuration currently offers several hub options, including SHR, SHR PRO ONE, AIVEE CLASSIC, DT Swiss 350, HOPE PRO 4 and Erase J-Bend.
The available freehub bodies include Shimano, Micro Spline 12-speed, XDR, EKAR and Campagnolo, allowing the wheelset to be configured around different drivetrain requirements.
Several spoke configurations are available. The standard options include Sapim Race, while Alpina Extralite Aero and Alpina Ultralite Aero are also offered as alternative configurations.
Brass or aluminium nipples can be selected, and the wheelset can also be ordered with spoke tying. Different nipple and sticker colours provide additional possibilities for personalising the finished wheels.
The configurator takes the rider's weight into account when ordering the wheelset. This forms part of the SH Race approach to custom wheel building: rather than treating every cyclist in the same way, the build can be adapted according to the selected configuration and rider profile.
If you are unsure which hubs, spokes, axle standards or freehub body to choose, contact SH Race before ordering. We can help you define a World Runner configuration suited to your bike and gravel riding.
SH Race is a Franco-Luxembourgish workshop based in Rumelange, Luxembourg, specialising in handbuilt bicycle wheels. Each wheelset is assembled individually, with component and configuration choices that can be adapted to the cyclist and intended use. The World Runner combines this custom-building approach with a DUKE aluminium rim designed for gravel riding.
